Interim President and CEO, Director
Mr. Phillips, a lawyer and co-founder of IAMGOLD Corp. in 1990, was responsible for directing and managing all international investments, joint ventures and government relationships, helping build IAMGOLD into one of the largest gold mining companies in
the world. He has been a member or advisor to numerous boards of directors, and served in senior executive positions with IAMGOLD, Niagara Ventures Corporation ad Euro Resources SA.
He has been Non-Executive Director of Compass Gold Corporation since May 8, 2012. He serves as the President of Corplex Management Services, through which he provides corporate advisory services and directorship to public and private companies. Prior to joining IMG, he was the managing partner of a Toronto-based law firm specializing in corporate commercial law. He served as a Board Member of The World Gold Council from 2006 to 2011.
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Rasenberg has been newly elected as California Gold’s Chairman of the Board. Prior to the current position, Mr. Rasenberg was the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Exeter, Ontario based J.M.R. Electric Ltd., a leading full-service
electrical and mechanical contractor.
Prior to joining J.M.R., Mr. Rasenberg was a Taxation Partner with MNP LLP, one of the largest chartered accountancy and advisory firms in Canada. Scott has also lectured and was a tutorial leader for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Mr. Rasenberg holds an Economics degree from the University of Western Ontario, an honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Windsor, and a professional designation as a Chartered Accountant. Currently, Mr. Rasenberg is President of Rasenberg-Group.
Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Secretary
Mr. Nagy is a chartered accountant with over 28 years of professional service and industry experience. His professional service experience of 10 years includes public practice audit engagements, personal and corporate tax assignments, as well as sales tax recovery consulting.
Industry experience includes various finance and accounting roles, including CFO within small to medium-sized private and public companies. His time in industry involved a wide range of activities including financial and management reporting, treasury and cash management, reorganizations, IT and system implementations, as well as investment banking.
Mr. Nagy now provides internal and external financial reporting services, as well as corporate secretary services, as a part time CFO for a variety of small companies through his company called, Your CFO Ltd. He has extensive experience in designing and creating financial reporting processes, including budgeting, operational analysis, statutory reporting and management reporting.
Mr. Tomlinson has served as the Chief Executive Officer of R.W. Tomlinson Ltd. since 1969.
R.W. Tomlinson Ltd. is a market leader in quarrying, construction, trucking and environmental industries throughout Eastern Canada and has been a supportive investor of California Gold since the Company completed its reverse takeover transaction in January 2010.
Mr. Cinq-Mars is the President, and has served as Vice President, of R.W. Tomlinson Ltd., a diversified Heavy Civil Construction firm with interests in quarrying, ready mix concrete, construction, trucking and environmental industries, since May 2009.
He previously held a number of senior executive positions with Waste Management Inc. from December 1996 to January 2009 including Vice President Eastern Canada, Vice President Sales & Marketing Canada, and Vice President Business Development Canada.
Mr. Cinq-Mars is a graduate of the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
Mr. Gupta is a Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and has experience working with numerous junior exploration and development stage mining companies.
Most recently he worked as an equity research analyst covering junior mining companies for Toronto-based financial institutions including Dundee Capital Markets, Fraser Mackenzie and Global Financial where he conducted independent technical due diligence on several exploration and resource development programs throughout North, Central and South America.
Previously, Mr. Gupta worked as an exploration geologist for several junior mining companies, and was involved in various aspects of resource exploration, including the planning, preparation, execution and reconciliation of drill programs.
Mr. Cronin has been a director of California Gold Mining since December 2011. He has also been the President of Patrick J. Cronin Insurance & Financial Services since 1994 as well as the President and principal of Interra Management Group Ltd. since 2004.
Interra is a commercial real estate management and development company with properties located throughout Ontario. Mr. Cronin was part of the shareholder group that helped fund the Company in the financing that was completed with the Company’s listing on the TSX Venture Exchange in January 2010 and he has continued to invest in the Company since that time.
